At Clarendon, students have the opportunity to learn a band instrument starting in 5th grade.  We offer instruction on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.  Students attend a 20 minute group lesson and meet twice a week for full band lessons.

In 5th grade, students focus on learning the basic fundamentals of their instruments.  This includes reading music notation, learning fingerings, playing correct rhythms, and more.  Once a student has reached 6th grade band, we are able to add further elements of playing opportunities, including playing holiday carols around school  and performing in the annual Instrument Festival in the spring at the Performing Arts Center at Mukwonago High School.

4th Grade Orchestra
Students in 4th grade are eligible to join our Strings program.  Every 4th grader is introduced to stringed instruments in the fall.  Students will achieve a fundamental understanding of their instrument and during the 3rd trimester students will play as a part of a large ensemble during the Spring Concert.
